Lost Daughter

So a little interesting info on NewTales!Chara is that she is actually an albino which is why she has pale skin and red eyes. The reason her hair has color though is because her mother always colored it to hide that she had white hair. As she stays underground though without the use of coloring agents it begins to fade back to white which chara becomes very self aware of. Her mother never really liked the fact that chara had albinism and sort of always view white hair as something you have when your older rather then young. So she would always comment on it saying she look to old or look like a small old lady and then proceeded to have coloring done on her hair. Chara’s mother never really met to be abusive in anyway and really didn’t realize how such comments would affect her self-esteem. She was just a women who spoke out too much, her pride being a bit of a downfall. However, don’t worry too much! Asriel goes on to help her accept her condition and booster her self-esteem a little. 

Despite being underground though, chara still carries an umbrella with her wherever she goes just in case and in a sense for comfort as well……think of it like a child’s security blanket.
